Look what I got in the mail this week: The PRS Angelus acoustic
Third Day is taping a show for the Gospel Music Channel in Atlanta this week. We’re performing some different arrangements of songs off Revelation as well as some of our classic songs. Knowing I needed something special on the acoustic side of things, I contacted PRS. And being so dang cool, they let me borrow this beautiful Angelus acoustic guitar.
Anytime you play a new guitar, you try to compare it to what you know. From the looks of it, I was expecting a pretty, lilting sort of tone, good for fingerpicked lines. While it does those things quite nicely, when I played it I was instantly struck by two things. One: this guitar is loud! It really projects in a cool bluegrass kind of way. It would feel right at home in that kind of environment. Two: while it has a great low end sound, it isn’t boomy. Very balanced.
Thanks to the folks at PRS for letting me in on something so cool. Two big ol’ thumbs up!
