About Mark Lee

I am the guitarist and founding member for Third Day.  We have released ten records, three of which have won Grammy Awards.  Most recently we’ve performed on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and The Tonight Show.  Third Day just won the award for “Favorite Artist - Contemporary/Inspriational”at the American Music Awards. We are currently on tour promoting our album Revelation.  Come see us at a tour stop near you!

I have been playing guitar for over twenty years, and have recently been feeling the pull towards mentoring other guitar players and fostering an online guitar community.  

About the Six String Lounge

The Six String Lounge is a blog/community targeted at guitarists of all skill levels.  This blog is different than other guitar sites in two key ways:

1. Positive, both in musical style AND in approach:  I play  in a “Christian rock” band so that is the genre I will focus on the most.  Also, a BIG reason why I started this blog was to combat the culture of negativity that seems to go hand in hand with talking about guitar.  It DOESN’T have to be this way, and we are going to prove it!
2. Clutter free:  99% of guitar and music sites on the web are so full of ads that you can barely find the content.  Other than a few links to “partners” who have supported me through the years and, I aim to keep this blog clutter free.

Here are a just a few of the features you can look for at the Six String Lounge:

• Regular editorial commentary on issues facing guitarists and the music industry at large.
• Spotlight features on real life “guitar heroes” who have impacted the guitar community.
• A rotating series of guitar instruction.
